Deceptive Practices and Voter Intimidation Prevention Act of 2025This bill generally prohibits deceptive communications and voter interference regarding federal elections.Specifically, the bill prohibits any person, within 60 days before a federal election, from communicating, causing to be communicated, or producing for communication certain information on voting, if the person (1) knows such information to be materially false, and (2) has the intent to impede or prevent another person from voting in an election.Additionally, the bill prohibits any person, within 60 days before a federal election, fromĀ using an artificial intelligence system to produce certain information on voting, if the person has the intent to use the system to (1) produce false information, and (2) impede or prevent another person from voting in an election. The bill also prohibits hindering, interfering with, or preventing voting or registering to vote.A private right of action for preventive relief is established for persons aggrieved by violations of these prohibitions.Criminal penalties are also established for violations. If the Department of Justice (DOJ) receives a credible report that materially false information has been or is being communicated in violation of the prohibitions on deceptive communications, and state and local election officials have not adequately communicated corrected information, then DOJ must communicate to the public accurate information designed to correct the materially false information. The bill extends the prohibition on certain types of intimidation in federal elections to also prohibit intimidation for processing ballots or tabulating, canvassing, or certifying votes.

This bill exchanges administrative jurisdiction over specified parcels of federal land between Yosemite National Park and Stanislaus National Forest in California.By way of background, cattle are grazing on the land currently managed by the National Park Service. However, grazing on federal lands primarily occurs on lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management or the Forest Service. The transfer would allow the land with cattle grazing to be managed by the Forest Service, which has aĀ multiple-use management plan that is consistent with grazing.

Continuing Appropriations and Extensions and Other Matters Act, 2026This bill provides continuing FY2026 appropriations for federal agencies, permanently extends the expanded premium tax credit for purchasing health insurance, provides additional funding for Medicaid and security for federal officials, and extends various expiring programs.Specifically, the bill provides continuing FY2026 appropriations to federal agencies through the earlier of October 31, 2025, or the enactment of the applicable appropriations act. It is known as a continuing resolution (CR) and prevents a government shutdown that would otherwise occur if the FY2026 appropriations bills have not been enacted when FY2026 begins on October 1, 2025.TheĀ CR funds most programs and activities at the FY2025 levels with several exceptions that provide funding flexibility and additional appropriations for various programs. For example, the CR provides additional funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and security for federal officials. In addition, the CRpermanently extends provisions that expanded the premium tax credit, which generally reduces premiums for health insurance purchased through a health insurance exchange;repeals health care provisions that were included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, includingĀ provisions that reduced Medicaid funding;Ā authorizes the District of Columbia to spend local funds at the rates included in its FY2026 local budget;extends the availability of certain funds that are being withheld by the Office of Management andĀ Budget (OMB); andlimits the authority ofĀ OMB to withhold appropriations. Finally, the bill extends several expiring programs and authorities, including programs related to health care, veterans, homeland security, and agriculture.
