Directs the state fire prevention and building code council to develop standards permitting single stairway residential buildings up to six stories or seventy-five feet in height in a city having a population of one million or more.
Relates to gender indication on insurance claim forms; provides policies shall not exclude coverage if gender indication is different from sex assigned at birth or gender otherwise recorded.
Establishes a disability employment innovation fund; authorizes the issuance of "Classic NY" series license plates consisting of reissued historical license plate designs; authorizes the commissioner of motor vehicles to identify, reserve, and auction certain license plate configurations that are determined to have elevated market value; directs proceeds of "Classic NY" series plates and any auctioned plates to be deposited into the disability employment innovation fund.
Provides that the New York state uniform fire prevention and building code shall address standards requiring the use of a water demand calculator to determine pipe and fixture sizing for use in new construction and substantial renovations of single-family and multi-unit residential buildings; directs the chairperson of the state fire prevention and building code council to appoint an advisory board to monitor the use of water demand calculators in new construction and substantial renovations and to monitor and keep records of cost savings resulting from the use of such water demand calculators.
Directs the commissioner of motor vehicles to provide a space on the forms of identification cards and licenses for a notation for returned peace corps volunteers.
Enacts the "New York wildlife crossing act"; directs the department of transportation and the New York state thruway authority, in consultation with the department of environmental conservation and the department of motor vehicles, to identify sites along all highways, thruways and parkways in the state where wildlife crossings are most needed to increase public safety and improve habitat connectivity and create a priority list of wildlife opportunity areas where federal grant monies may be available to implement the top five projects identified.
Enacts the safe access to care act requiring certain healthcare facilities to adopt and make public a statement of patient rights and healthcare facility obligations with regards to immigration enforcement; includes unlawful or non-judicially authorized immigration enforcement actions at a healthcare facility as a workplace threat or hazard for purposes of the violence prevention program.
Authorizes Aileen Colon, the widow of Santiago Francisco Mayol, to file a new service retirement application and option election form on behalf of her deceased spouse.
Requires the division of housing and community renewal to publish the results of annual audits of approved applications for temporary major capital improvement increases on its website annually.
Enacts the "Bryant Ortiz act"; establishes the crime of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle resulting in death when such person operates a motor vehicle upon a public highway without a valid license or in violation of the conditions of a learner's permit or any other limited driving privilege, including conditional and restricted use licenses, and in the course of such unlawful operation commits a traffic infraction or engages in negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and such operation results in the death of another person; makes it a class E felony.
Provides that sales and compensating use taxes on a new mobile home purchased as a primary residence shall be computed on thirty-five percent of the receipts or consideration given therefor by the purchaser or user.
Establishes confirmatory adoptions allowing adoption and parentage judgements for a child with more than two parents; recognizes functional parents as legal parents; allows "de facto parents" to get a court order confirming their parentage; grants all legal parents standing to seek visitation or custody of their children.
Relates to the commencement of certain sexual offense actions; extends the time for such commencement to two years and six months after the effective date of the section of law allowing such actions.
Provides that prescription labels for gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists, pubertal suppressants, anabolic steroids, alpha reductase inhibitors, progestins, or drug classes for hormone replacement therapy maybe include the name of the dispensing practice instead of the prescriber; provides for notice to patients.
