An Act To Establish The Mississippi Hospital Recovery Trust Program In The Department Of Finance And Administration To Provide Grants To Public Hospitals At High Financial Risk To Help Those Hospitals Be More Financially Viable So That They Can Continue To Operate And Be Available To Provide Health Care Services To The Communities In Which They Are Located; To Create A Special Fund To Be Known As The Mississippi Hospital Recovery Trust Fund, Which Shall Be Administered By The Department And Expended For The Sole Purpose Of Providing Grants To Public Hospitals Under The Provisions Of This Act; To Provide That To Be Eligible For A Grant, A Public Hospital Must Apply For The Grant And Include Such Documentation As Specified By The Department Showing That The Hospital Is At High Financial Risk; To Provide That The Amount Of Each Grant Shall Be Determined By The Department, With Priority For Larger Grants Being Given To Public Hospitals That Are At Immediate Risk Of Closing And Whose Survival Is Critically Essential To The Community In Which It Is Located; To Provide That Within Five Business Days After Receipt Of An Application With The Required Documentation Showing That The Public Hospital Is At High Financial Risk, The Department Shall Approve The Application And Distribute The Grant To The Hospital; To Require The Department To Make Annual Reports To The Joint Legislative Budget Committee About Each Grant Made Under This Act; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Create A Special Fund In The State Treasury To Be Known As The "historic Courthouse Fund"; To Provide That The Fund Shall Be Administered By The Department Of Archives And History For The Purpose Of Making Grants To Counties For The Maintenance And/or Restoration Of Historic Courthouses In Mississippi; To Provide That In Order To Receive A Grant From The Fund, A County Must Provide Matching Funds In The Amount Of Twenty-five Percent Of The Grant; To Authorize The Department To Solicit Gifts And Accept Donations For The Fund, And To Sell Donated Property And Deposit The Proceeds In The Fund; To Authorize The Legislature To Appropriate, Transfer Or Otherwise Provide Additional Funds For The Fund; To Provide That All Funds Deposited In The Historic Courthouse Fund Shall Be Expended, Upon Appropriation By The Legislature, By The Department Of Archives And History As Provided In This Act; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Require The State Board Of Education, In Conjunction With The Board Of Medical Licensure, The State Board Of Nursing And The Mississippi Hospital Association, To Establish And Implement A Program Known As The "delta Medical Apprenticeship Program" (ms Dmap) For Public School Students Enrolled In Grades 9 Through 12 In Schools Situated In Counties Of The Mississippi Delta; To Provide That The Purpose Of The Apprenticeship Program Will Be To Provide Career Pathways Into The Health Care And Medical Profession; To Require The Apprenticeship Program To Be Conducted In Conjunction With Health Care And Medical Facilities In Those Delta Counties Experiencing Critical Shortages In Health Care Professional; To Prescribe The Eligibility Requirements For Participation In The Apprenticeship Program; To Prescribe The Components To Be Included In The Apprenticeship Program; To Require The Apprenticeship Program To Provide Academic And Practical Application Instruction During The Course Of The Program; To Require Participating Students To Complete Certain Tasks And Research Projects; To Limit Participation In The Apprenticeship Program To Mississippi Residents In Grades 9 Through 12 Who Attend A Public School; To Require Eligible Persons To Submit An Application For Participation To The State Department Of Education; To Require The Department To Make The Applications Available To All School Districts By A Certain Date And To Establish The Deadline For Acceptance Of Applications; To Provide An Incentive In The Form Of A Stipend For Students Participating In The Apprenticeship Program; To Establish The Mississippi Delta Medical Apprenticeship Program Trust Fund In The State Treasury To Provide Support To Local School Districts And The Board Of Medical Licensure For Start-up Costs And Costs Associated With Implementing And Operating The Apprenticeship Program; To Amend Section 37-71-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Make A Minor Nonsubstantive Change; To Bring Forward Sections 37-71-9 And 31-71-11, Mississippi Code Of 1972, For Purposes Of Possible Amendments; And For Related Purposes.
