Authorizes Medicaid coverage to a disabled person attending an out-of-state college or university who is in need of continuous medical care and is a domiciliary of the state of New York; authorizes continuous coverage for services and care such person received while in-state; requires persons eligible for the provisions of this section must show proof of enrollment every semester.
Designates the "Honor and Remember Flag" as the official state flag for recognizing armed service members who have died as a result of serving the United States in any war or conflict the nation has been involved in since its inception.
Prohibits food or beverage service establishments that are part of a chain with fifteen or more locations nationally from implementing surge pricing; provides exceptions; imposes a penalty.
Permits the principal of any high school to allow any local fire department, upon request, to enter the school for the purpose of fire department junior recruitment, including, but not limited to: making presentations; disseminating literature; and answering questions by students.
Directs the commissioner of motor vehicles to conduct a study to examine and update the requirements of safety inspections conducted to ensure the operational safety of all motor vehicles; requires a report; makes related provisions.
Relates to exemptions available to veterans; requires school districts to provide the veterans alternative exemption; establishes that costs associated with such exemption shall be borne by the state.
Requires the division of criminal justice services to establish and maintain a database of information relating to the sale or use of microstamped guns in the state and to promulgate regulations regarding the provision of information pertaining to the sale, delivery or use of such guns within the state.
Prohibits the release of criminal history or any mental health history records by a coroner, coroner's physician or medical examiner of individuals who were the subject of the use of force by a police or peace officer.
Authorizes the court where there is criminal possession of stolen property to, in its discretion release the principal pending trial on the principal's own recognizance or under non-monetary conditions, fix bail, or order non-monetary conditions in conjunction with fixing bail, or, where the defendant is charged with a qualifying offense which is a felony, the court may commit the principal to the custody of the sheriff; makes related provisions.
Requires schools to conduct annual lead testing on pipes and paint in all schools in New York city that provide schooling for children ages six and under and to remediate any presence of lead immediately if detected.
Requires every middle school and every high school to provide instruction on vaccine science, including vaccine history and development, effects on the immune system, vaccine-preventable diseases and their spread, and vaccine safety and testing.
