Requires the office of mental health to provide an informational notice to supportive housing tenants which contains information about a supportive housing tenant's rights as a tenant, information about their building and other related information.
Establishes the commercial tenant opportunity to purchase act; provides commercial tenants the right of first refusal for the purchase of certain commercial rental properties.
Establishes a fundamental right to counsel for all respondents facing eviction proceedings; mandates an automatic stay or adjournment on any housing court eviction proceedings if a tenant does not have an attorney.
Authorizes the county of Ulster to establish an affordable housing fund to provide financial assistance to first-time homebuyers, production of affordable housing, emergency housing, or supportive housing for sale or rent, rehabilitation of existing buildings for conversion to affordable housing, emergency housing, or supportive housing, acquisition of interests in real property in existing housing units, and the provision of housing counseling services.
Establishes the "tenant opportunity to purchase act"; prevents the displacement of middle and lower-income tenants in New York; preserves affordable housing by providing an opportunity for tenants to own or remain renters in the properties in which they reside.
