Requires the creation of a food allergy poster by the department of health; requires the posting of such in all food service establishments; authorizes the department to charge a fee to cover printing, postage and handling expenses of the posters.
Enacts the "9/11 notice act"; provides for notice to past and present employees of eligibility for the September eleventh victim compensation fund and the World Trade Center health program.
Relates to exemptions available to veterans; requires school districts to provide the veterans alternative exemption; establishes that costs associated with such exemption shall be borne by the state.
Requires counties and/or cities to establish a plan for providing legal counsel to persons who are defendants or respondents in eviction, ejectment and foreclosure proceedings and who are financially unable to obtain counsel; defines eligible person as one whose gross individual income is not in excess of one hundred twenty-five percent of the federal income official poverty line; requires the state to match dollar for dollar the amount counties appropriate for their plans.
Relates to orders of protection with respect to companion animals; provides further protection for pets by authorizing the court to order a party to either relinquish a pet or to refrain from any contact with a pet.
Authorizes the transfer of certain weapons from an estate to an immediate member of the decedent's family; expands definition of immediate family to include siblings, grandparents and grandchildren as such term relates to the sale or disposal of certain firearms; relates to the filing of approved applications for licenses for the possession of firearms; exempts certain large capacity ammunition feeding devices from certain requirements of the penal law; repeals provisions of law prohibiting the possession of certain large capacity ammunition feeding devices; repeals provisions relating to certain requirements for the sellers of ammunition.
Prohibits the New York Department of State from issuing a certificate of dissolution and filing a judgment or final order of dissolution for the pension fund for employees of the former St. Clare's Hospital in the city of Schenectady, county of Schenectady, until an investigation and/or audit by the New York State Department of Health, the New York State Attorney General or the New York State Comptroller has been conducted to ascertain whether there was any impropriety in the handling and management of funds in such pension plan.
