An Act To Amend Section 43-17-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Increase The Maximum Temporary Assistance For Needy Families (tanf) Monthly Benefit Available For The First Family Member In The Dependent Child's Budget; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Section 43-11-1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Personal Care Homes Must Be Licensed And Regulated By The State Department Of Health If They Provide Individual Or Group Living Arrangements For One Or More Persons Who Are Unrelated To The Operator; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Be Known As The Mississippi Genetic Counselor Practice Act; To Provide For The Licensure And Regulation Of Genetic Counselors By The State Board Of Health; To Define Certain Terms And Define The Scope Of Practice Of Genetic Counseling; To Provide That From And After January 1, 2026, A License Issued Under This Act Is Required To Engage In The Practice Of Genetic Counseling; To Prohibit Persons From Holding Themselves Out As Genetic Counselors Unless They Are Licensed In Accordance With This Act; To Prescribe The Minimum Qualifications For Genetic Counseling Licensure; To Provide For Reciprocal Licensure For Persons Who Are Licensed Or Registered As A Genetic Counselor Under The Laws Of Another State; To Authorize The Board To Grant Provisional Genetic Counselor Licenses For Persons Who Have Been Granted Active Candidate Status; To Prescribe Continuing Education Requirements For Licensees; To Provide Exemptions From Licensure For Certain Persons; To Create The Mississippi Council Of Advisors In Genetic Counseling To Advise The Board And Department On Matters Relating To The Administration And Interpretation Of The Provisions Of This Act; To Prescribe The Powers And Duties Of The Board In Administering The Provisions Of This Act; To Authorize The Board To Deny, Suspend Or Revoke Licenses For Certain Conduct; To Authorize The Board To Receive And Process Complaints And Investigate Allegations Or Practices Violating The Provisions Of This Act; To Authorize The Board To Seek Injunctive Relief To Prohibit Persons From Providing Services As A Genetic Counselor Without Being Licensed Under This Act; To Provide Criminal Penalties For Violations Of This Act; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Section 41-26-6, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That The Mississippi State Board Of Health Shall Not Require Community Public Water Systems, Nontransient, Noncommunity Public Water Systems, Public Water Systems Or Semi-public Water Systems To Fluoridate Water Or To Acquire And Install Fluoridation Treatment Equipment; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Authorize The Issuance Of State General Obligation Bonds To Provide Funds To Assist Pike County, Mississippi, In Paying Costs Associated With Repair And Renovation Of And Upgrades And Improvements To The Mccomb Public Library In Mccomb, Mississippi; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Section 43-11-13, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require The State Department Of Health To Adopt Rules Governing Minimum Standards Of Construction, Electricity And Emergency Power Sources Applicable To Licensed Nursing Homes And Assisted Living Facilities; To Provide That Nursing Homes And Assisted Living Facilities Shall Be Required To Maintain A Fully Operational Emergency Power Source And A Supply Of Fuel Sufficient To Sustain The Emergency Power Source For At Least Five Days; To Clarify That Such Emergency Power Source Shall Be Sufficient To Provide Power For Patients Reliant On Supplemental Oxygen Or For Other Medical Devices Requiring Electrical Power And To Maintain Comfortable Air Temperatures For Residents; To Require The Department To Conduct Routine, Unannounced Inspections To Determine Compliance With Such Standards For Electricity And Emergency Power Sources; To Provide That Nursing Homes And Assisted Living Facilities Licensed In Mississippi Shall Have 60 Days To Comply With The Minimum Requirements Following Promulgation Of Such Regulations By The State Board Of Health; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Section 25-11-123, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Counties And Municipalities Shall Not Be Responsible For Paying Employer Contributions In The Public Employees' Retirement System Of Mississippi (pers) Above The Amount Calculated Based On The Rate Set On July 1, 2024; To Provide That The Responsibility For Any Contributions Over Said Amount Shall Be Borne By The State Of Mississippi; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Create New Section 41-20-12, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That If A Health Care Facility Relinquished Its Certificate Of Need Or License For Inpatient Psychiatric Services Due To Conversion From An Acute Care Hospital Or Critical Access Hospital To A Rural Emergency Hospital In Accordance With 42 Cfr § 485.502, The Department Of Health May License The Psychiatric Inpatient Beds To A Separate Entity If The New Applicant Is Associated With The Rural Emergency Hospital; To Require The Department Of Health To Issue A Separate Certificate Of Need To The New Entity; To Require The Rural Emergency Hospital And The Psychiatric Facility To Maintain Separation Of Facilities, Licensure, Operations, Finances And Governance; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Create A Task Force To Conduct A Study Of The Impact Of Alternative Funding Programs On Patient Access To Affordable Prescription Drugs; To Provide That The Members Of The Task Force Shall Be Comprised Of The Members Of The Mississippi Rare Disease Advisory Council Or Their Designees; To Provide That The First Meeting Of The Task Force Shall Be Held By May 15, 2025; To Specify The Subjects And Issues That The Study Shall Consider; To Provide That The Task Force Shall Complete The Study Not Later Than December 1, 2025, And Transmit Copies Of The Study To Certain Persons, And Provide A Written Report Of Its Findings From The Study, Together With Any Recommendations For Legislation, To Certain Officials And Legislative Committees; And For Related Purposes.
