An Act To Provide For Six Weeks Of Paid Leave For Eligible State Employees Who Are The Primary Caregivers Of A Qualifying Child And Three Weeks Of Paid Leave For The Secondary Caregivers, To Be Used To Care For The Child After The Birth, Adoption Or Foster Placement Of The Qualifying Child; To Define "eligible Employee" And "qualifying Child" For The Purpose Of This Act; To Provide That The Leave Provided Under This Act Must Be Taken Within Six Months Of The Pregnancy, Birth, Adoption Or Foster Placement Of The Qualifying Child; To Provide That The Leave Provided Under This Act Shall Be In Addition To Other Leave Benefits Available To State Employees By State Or Federal Law And Shall Not Be Counted Against Other Personal Or Medical Leave Allotments; To Provide That The Leave Shall Run Concurrently With Any Leave Provided To An Eligible Employee Under The Federal Family And Medical Leave Act; To Provide That All Legal State And Federal Holidays Shall Not Be Counted Against The Leave Provided Under This Act; To Amend Sections 25-3-93 And 25-3-95, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Authorize The Department Of Wildlife, Fisheries And Parks To Issue A Permit To Landowners And/or Cooperators Which Allows For The Taking Of White-tailed Deer During The Closed Season When Deer Are Causing Substantial Damage To Agricultural Crops; To Define Terms Relating To The Deer Management Assistance Program; To Provide That Landowners And/or Cooperators May Only Take The Number Of Deer Recommended By A Mdwfp Biologist And Specified On The Permit; To Require Landowners And/or Cooperators To Report The Number Of Deer Harvested To The Department; To Require Landowners And/or Cooperators To Collect Certain Physical Data From Such Harvested Deer And Submit Such Data To The Department; To Provide That After A Department Biologist Analyzes Such Harvest Data And Evaluates The Habitat, The Biologist Shall Meet With The Landowner And/or Cooperator To Discuss Harvest Strategies; All Meat From Deer That Has Been Harvested By A Landowner And/or Cooperator Shall Be Salvaged, Processed, And Donated To An Area Food Bank, Shelter, Or Other Nonprofit Charitable Organization Approved By The Department; To Prohibit A Landowner And/or Cooperator From Using A Silencer Or Suppressor; To Provide Penalties For A Violation Of This Act; To Provide That By Enrolling In The Program, A Landowner And/or Cooperator Agrees To Allow Department Personnel To Have Access To His Or Her Lands For Certain Purposes; To Authorize The Department To Establish Rules And Regulations Necessary To Further Implement And Administer The Program; To Bring Forward Section 49-1-39, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Relates To Permits To Kill Any Species Of Animals Or Certain Birds That May Be Injurious To Agricultural Interests, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; To Bring Forward Section 49-7-31.5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Relates To The Hunting, Trapping And Taking Of Nuisance Animals, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Create The "released-time Moral Instruction Act Of 2024"; To Authorize Local School Boards To Permit The Released-time Moral Instruction Of Pupils; To Permit School Boards To Complete A Survey To Determine Pupils Within The School District Who Desire Released-time Moral Instruction And Who Have Received Consent From Their Parent Or Legal Guardian For Such Instruction; To Require School Boards To Allow Those Students Desiring Released-time Moral Instruction To Participate In Off-site For At Least One Hour, One Day Each Week; To Prohibit The School District From Providing Or Facilitating Released-time Moral Instruction On School Premises; To Permit Local School Boards To Make Arrangements With The Persons In Charge Of The Released-time Moral Instruction As The Board Deems Necessary And Advisable; To Provide That Students Shall Not Be Penalized Or Considered Absent From The School For Purposes Of Attending Released-time Moral Instruction; To Provide That Students Who Do Not Participate In Released-time Moral Instruction Shall Continue In The Regular Course Of Daily Instruction; To Provide That Released-time Moral Instruction Shall Be Given Without Expense To Any Local School Board Beyond The Cost Of The Original Survey; To Amend Section 37-13-91, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.
