Requires pre-admission notification of policies authorizing the refusal to follow directives in health care proxies that are contrary to a hospital's operating principles.
Bars completely the recovery of damages from the victim or a person acting on behalf of the victim for personal injury sustained by a person convicted of a crime when such injury occurred during the commission of such crime or while fleeing therefrom.
Requires the prosecution to disclose to defense counsel certain information relating to jailhouse informants; requires prosecutors to notify victims of the informant's crimes if the prosecutor has offered the informant a benefit in exchange for testimony or other cooperation.
Authorizes the commissioner of taxation and finance to revoke the certificate of registration of the sale of adult-use cannabis; increases certain penalties relating to the sale of illicit cannabis; authorizes the commissioner of taxation and finance and the duly authorized representatives of the office of cannabis management to provide enforcement; makes it a class A misdemeanor for a distributor of adult-use cannabis products or a retail seller of adult-use cannabis products to sell any such products while not registered to do so.
Relates to prohibiting insurance companies from denying coverage for individuals that have taken or are currently taking pre-exposure prophylaxis for the prevention of HIV or post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent HIV infection.
Prohibits state reimbursement of campaign and political committees, or legal defense funds, for payments made on behalf of the criminal or civil defense of a state employee.
Provides that the court shall not reduce jury awards as excessive in employment discrimination actions unless the court finds exceptional circumstances which compel the conclusion that the jury was influenced by partiality, prejudice, mistake or corruption.
