Requires vision screening in public schools using examination devices and testing methods as may be authorized in the regulations of the commissioner of education, including but not limited to, the Snellen Eye Test Chart and automated vision screening devices.
Requires hospitals and residential health care facilities to have a three-month supply of personal protective equipment in stock on the premises; requires the department of health to conduct an annual audit of the availability of such personal protective equipment in hospitals and residential health care facilities.
Requires the office for people with developmental disabilities to develop and maintain a community residence opportunities waitlist which include the names and contact information of all individuals seeking placement in a community residence.
Relates to repair reserve funds for municipal corporations, school districts, boards of cooperative educational services, district corporations and improvement districts.
Creates the New York flood insurance association which will consist of all insurers authorized to write and engaged in writing within this state, on a direct basis, flood coverage insurance.
Requires the New York city housing authority, in reviewing applicants, to grant domestic violence victims the same preference as granted to any other class of applicants.
Establishes an interstate compact agreement to phase out corporate giveaways which prohibits member states from offering or providing any company-specific tax incentive or company-specific grant to any entity for a corporate headquarters, manufacturing facility, office space or other real estate development located in any other member state as an inducement for the corporate headquarters, manufacturing facility, office space or other real estate development to relocate to the offering member state.
Prohibits an employer from terminating an employee who is also a volunteer firefighter or an enrolled member of a volunteer ambulance service when such employee misses or is late to work because of an emergency to which the employee was dispatched.
Authorizes certain shelters for victims of domestic violence to be reimbursed for any payment differential for housing a single individual in a room intended for double occupancy where a single occupancy room is not available.
