An Act To Amend Section 25-41-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require Official Meetings Of Certain Public Bodies, With Exceptions, To Be Broadcast Via Video Livestreaming Applications On The Front Page Of The Official Website Of Each Respective Agency, To Require Information To Be Included In All Public Notices, And To Provide That Any Action Taken By Such A Public Body Failing To Comply With Livestreaming Requirements Is Void And Of No Effect; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Require Any Person Who Is Not A Licensed Gun Dealer To Require A Background Check Before The Transfer Of A Firearm At A Gun Show; To Require The Prospective Firearm Transferor To Obtain Approval From The Department Of Public Safety After The Background Check Has Been Requested By A Licensed Gun Dealer; To Define Terms; To Require A Prospective Firearm Transferor Who Is Not A Licensed Gun Dealer To Arrange For A Licensed Gun Dealer To Obtain The Background Check Required By This Act; To Prohibit A Prospective Firearm Transferee From Accepting Possession Of The Firearm Unless The Prospective Firearm Transferor Has Obtained Approval Of The Transfer From The Department Of Public Safety After A Background Check Has Been Requested By A Licensed Gun Dealer Pursuant To This Act; To Prohibit A Prospective Firearm Transferee From Knowingly Providing False Information To A Prospective Firearm Transferor Or To A Licensed Gun Dealer For The Purpose Of Acquiring A Firearm; To Provide That A Person Who Transfers A Firearm In Violation Of The Provisions Of This Section May Be Jointly And Severally Liable For Any Civil Damages Proximately Caused By The Transferee's Subsequent Use Of The Firearm; To Provide Certain Exceptions To The Requirement Of A Background Check; To Provide Criminal Penalties For The Violation Of This Act; To Provide That Nothing In This Act Shall Be Interpreted To Limit Or Otherwise Alter The Duties Of A Licensed Gun Dealer Transferring Or Attempting To Transfer At A Gun Show Under Federal Or State Law; To Amend Section 45-9-103, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Enact The Free To Speak Law; To Define Terms; To Provide That An Employee Of A Public School, Community College Or University Shall Not Address An Unemancipated Minor Student By A Name Other Than The Student's Legal Name Or By A Pronoun Or Title That Is Inconsistent With The Student's Sex Without The Written Permission Of A Student's Parent Or Guardian; To Provide That An Employee Of A Public School, Community College Or University, Shall Not Be Subject To An Adverse Employment Action For Declining To Address A Person Using A Name Other Than The Person's Legal Name Or By A Pronoun Or Title That Is Inconsistent With The Person's Sex Or For Declining To Identify His Or Her Pronouns; To Provide That A Student Of A Public School, Community College Or University Shall Not Be Subject To Any Disciplinary Action For Declining To Address A Person Using A Name Other Than The Person's Legal Name Or By A Pronoun Or Title That Is Inconsistent With The Person's Sex Or For Declining To Identify His Or Her Pronouns. And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Require Appointments To State Agencies, Boards And Commission Positions To Reflect The Demographic Of The Area They Are Appointed To Serve; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Sections 37-13-81, 37-13-83, 37-13-85, 37-13-87 And 37-13-89, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Clarify The Name Of The Office Of Compulsory School Attendance Enforcement And Dropout Prevention Within The State Department Of Education; To Provide That The State Superintendent Of Public Education Shall Employ Sufficient Staff For The Office, Who Shall Meet Qualifications Established By The Superintendent With The Approval Of The State Personnel Board, To Provide Oversight For The Enforcement Of The Mississippi Compulsory School Attendance Law, And To Support And Provide Technical Assistance And Professional Development To School Attendance Officers; To Transfer The Responsibility For Employing And Establishing The Duties Of School Attendance Officers From The State Department Of Education To Local School Districts; To Abolish The Three Regional School Attendance Officer Supervisor Positions; To Provide That School Attendance Officers Employed By The State Department Of Education On July 1, 2025, Shall Be Transferred To Employment Status As Employees Of Their Respective School Districts With Work Locations Therein And Shall Enforce Attendance At Charter Schools Located Within The School District; To Provide For The Sharing Of Administrative And Costs-sharing Responsibilities Of Two Or More School Districts Which Were Simultaneously Served By The Same School Attendance Officer; To Provide For The Transfer Of Any Unused Accumulated Leave; To Require The State To Provide Funding For One School Attendance Officer For Every 3,000 Compulsory-school-age Children In Enrollment In The Public Schools Of A County; To Establish The Minimum Salary Of Newly Hired School Attendance Officers Beginning July 1, 2025, And Authorize Local School Boards To Pay Additional Compensation Above The Minimum Salary On A Scale Established By The Local School Board; To Provide That School Attendance Officers Shall Not Experience Any Interruption Of Service With The Public Employees' Retirement System And The School Employees' Health Insurance Plan As A Result Of The Transfer Of Employment Responsibility; To Require The State Department Of Education And The Mississippi Association Of School Superintendents To Provide A Joint Report On The Status And Progress Of School Attendance Officers In Their Capacity As Employees Of Local School Districts And The Fulfillment Of Their Assigned Duties To The Legislature During The 2027 Regular Session; To Amend Sections 37-13-91 And 37-13-107, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.
